 14500 Batteries with a Difference

The AW 14500 protected 750 mAh battery offers top quality construction so your devices are powered, protected and safe. These are not your standard cheap batteries! The AW 14500 Li-ion battery is 3.7V and packs in 750mAh of protected power. Having said that, it can go down to a minimum of 700mAh which is not too bad, the voltage can also go up to as much as 4.2 volts at its peak or when it it fresh from a charge. The battery is ideal for different devices of various brands on the market.


Protection Perks

The battery uses IC protection against overcharging, over-discharging, over-current loads and nasty short circuits. Overcharging can cause a lot of horror to a battery and it may, at the very least reduce performance or worse, render the battery unusable. The results of overcharging can cook the battery components and too much heat is not all that appreciated by any battery. This will never happen in the case of the AW Protected 14500. Over-discharge can also be a problem and you can forget about this happening because the battery itself will prevent devices from sucking up all its juice. General Cautionary Notes

The AW 14500 li-ion rechargeable battery may be protected but it is still not cool to over-discharge/overcharge, this can lead to ruin so while it is protected forcing it over the edge to its breaking point is frowned upon and could be dangerous.

Rechargeable batteries like the 14500 get discharged over time, even when not in use, so it is best to recharge batteries, most especially when they are empty and do this as soon as possible. This is to prevent them from going to the point where they are no longer usable. Although there are measures available in the form of chargers that can revive them, why risk it and diminish the performance of the battery. Leaving batteries, in general, in discharged state will incur irreversible damage (capacity/ cycle loss).

It cannot be said enough, do not short circuit the battery. It can be disastrous not only for the battery but also yourself, others around you or your property. Another thing, please do not carry batteries loose in your pocket, purse or anywhere they can make contact with other metal objects because this may be one of the most common short circuit causes. It can result in a fire or an explosion. Disposing the battery in a fire is not also the way to go, an explosive reaction or chemical leakage, airborne or otherwise, might ensue and all these chemicals might have hazardous effects.

It is also expected that you do not leave the 14500 battery in your vehicle, the heat that a car can experience may be too much in some cases and as I have mentioned before heat and batteries do not mix well.

Be responsible and never leave a battery charging unattended. Also, discontinue use when a battery looks worn, especially if the outer wrapping is torn, or if it's acting unusual. You should also use special caution when working with Li-ion or Li-MN cells; they are very sensitive to charging characteristics and may explode or burn if mishandled. It will not take much time to gain enough knowledge of Li-Ion rechargeable batteries in charging, discharging and assembly so please take the time to go over the documentation before use. A tip to prevent any fire is to charge in/on a fire-proof surface. Do not do any modification of the batteries/chargers in any form or shape (including pack making) and that should be left to the professionals or experts.
